Retro Pixel Fun for DIRECTV’s Campaign

Touch the sky, not the antenna

To complete TBWA/CHIAT/DAY's DirecTV campaign, we were asked to design the Frankie and Bobby mini game.

A simple, fun mechanic inspired by Flappy Bird. With a simple interaction and progression levels for users to keep the pigeons in-flight.

Rhythm of Change:

An Evolving Mini-Game

To bring more energy to the mini-game without increasing the number of assets, we made the environment evolve with the colors of the day. Starting from black-and-white visuals, each time of day comes to life through palettes inspired by our key artworks. Animated details like lit-up windows and passing trains add rhythm and depth to the Direct TV universe.

Fly High, Pigeon Style:
A Retro Pixel Flap Game

We blended traditional and digital animation to capture that old-school 8-bit game vibe, keeping the details just right. The modern twist? Blur and flare effects that add depth and make every scene pop.

No, you’ve cracked all your eggs… but you can always challenge yourself or your friends.
Who’s going to fly farther Frankie or Bobby?
